Michel Legrand (Frankrijk, 1932) kreeg muziek met de paplepel binnen. Vader Raymond werkte met grote namen als Edith Piaf en Maurice Chevalier. Michel trad in zijn voetsporen maar was naast pianist/begeleider ook componist. Vanaf de jaren '60 van de vorige eeuw schreef hij veel filmmuziek. The Thomas crown affaire en Yentl leverden onvergetelijke songs op. The windmills of your mind bracht hem zelfs een Oscar. Deze uitgave bevat 25 titels voor zang (aparte notenbalk), piano en gitaarakkoorden. Omdat de melodie is verwerkt in de pianopartij is dit arrangement ook heel goed te gebruiken voor piano solo. Fraai pianistisch uitgewerkt. Dat mag ook verwacht worden van een uitgave die als titel The piano collection draagt. Duidelijke notatie met zwart-witfoto's uit films.
