Antarctica (1983)

"Antarctica is the Vangelis soundtrack to the film Nankyoku Monogatari by Koreyoshi Kurahara, released in 1983. The story is about two Japanese scientists, Ushioda and Ochi, who develop a bond with their sled dogs while on an expedition in Antarctica. Ushioda and Ochi eventually leave Antarctica, only to return to search for the dogs inadvertently marooned there. The soundtrack successfully captures the chilly and lonely experience of the cold continent, with the layered synthesized music Vangelis is known and revered for." (Bertus / MOV)
