"De vrienden mogen er alvast zijn: Eric Clapton, Ron Wood, David Gilmour, Albert Lee, Mark Knopfler, Paul Ansell en Mike Sanchez, begeleid door o.a. The Rhythm Kings van Bill Wyman die voortdurend kijkt alsof hij aan een plaspauze toe is. Scotty Moore (1932) was verantwoordelijk voor de zo karakteristieke gitaarpartijen op Elvis vroege werk. 50 Jaar later mocht hij ze nog eens in de Abbey Road Studio voor publiek ten gehore brengen in samenwerking met de genoemde coryfeeën. Het leverde een vlotte, geroutineerde presentatie op zonder al te grote verrassingen. Ansell en Sanchez komen het meest natuurlijk over, Gilmour tekent voor een mooie uitvoering van "Dont" en gitarist Martin Taylor excelleert in instrumentale versies van "Heartbreak Hotel" en "Tennessee Waltz". Maar de meeste aandacht gaat natuurlijk uit naar Scotty Moore en zijn grote semi-akoestische gitaar. En wat nou zo aardig is, de oude baas klinkt nog precies als op de oorspronkelijke opnamen uit de jaren '50." (Jaap van Eik, Revolver)
