De accordeonist zelf over dit album: "More than a solo album, "Solo" is a true conversation with myself. Actually, I played and recorded the four parts of the suite "Ballet Tango" as a rerecording, and also for the bandoneon/accordion duets on Chiquilin de Bachin or the four accordions that accompany the solo part of Adios Noñino or Oblivion, and of course the solo pieces: Pedro y Pedro and the three piano preludes that Astor asked me to arrange for a concert accordion. During the recording period (1992) I put all my energy and love to realize this Tribute to a dying Man (Astor Piazzola was at that time in a deep coma in Buenos Aires since almost two long years), thanking him for giving me back hope, strength and confidence. Today, this remasterisation enables to update and warm up the sound of this recording by emphasising contrapuntally in a more readable way. Piazzollas music is universal, timeless, sincere and deeply human. This is for Astor, and for you as well."
