Davis was at the peak of what many were calling his 'comeback', following the benchmark album "The Man With The Horn" and its successors. This concert was deftly shot in Warsaw, when Davis gathered an astonishing ensemble of young musicians and began working out ultimate implications of the jazzrock fusion he'd pioneered in the 1970's. The show is filled with beautiful moments of interplay among Davis and his ensemble, which includes an amazing array of stalwarts and jazz stars-to-be. The funk is alway sthere - but the filigree and delicacy of the improvising takes us to unexpected new places. And through it all we hear the brooding, explosive, always original sound of Miles's horn.
