"The original lineup of 10cc managed to blend 70s pop/power pop with Beatles harmonies and more experimental leanings. They produced four albums and had a couple of hits and then cleaved in half when Creme & Godley (the more experimental half) left. This is a terrific live doucment of the original line up (plus drummer Paul Burgess) for the "King Biscuit Flower Hour" that features material from the band's first two albums. The recording is extremely good pulled from the mastertapes prepared for broadcast... Eric Stewart was once asked if 10cc could have been as big as Queen. He stated that he felt that they reached the level of success they deserved. We humbly disagree, while the original four piece line up could be idiocycratic bordering on the avant garde at times (plenty of Zappa/Captain Beefheart influence in the Godley/Creme team nicely balanced out by the more mainstream songwriting instincts of the Stewart/Gouldman team), their music could be as accessible as Queen's."
