Eerste twee solo-albums van de gitarist/zanger. "Peter Frampton's solo debut after leaving Humble Pie spotlights his musically well-crafted songwriting and his fine guitar playing. The songs are built around the acoustic guitar, but a few sound like they could have been Humble Pie's. The sound is crisp, the melodies catchy, and Frampton's Gibson Les Paul guitar leads soar throughout. With its mix of ballads and upbeat numbers, "Wind of Change" showed Frampton at his creative peak. The band includes Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, and Klaus Voorman. "Frampton's Camel" has a harder-rocking feel, with Mick Gallagher's percussive electric piano and organ taking a prominent position and Frampton getting a harder sound from his electric guitars (though his lush acoustic playing dominates here and there). The sound lays out the formula that Frampton would take to mega-success three years later. The songs are all first-rate or close to it: compelling examples of '70s rock at its commercial best."
