Pia Come La Canto Io (2007)

Van de officiële site van de Italiaanse sterzangeres: "2007 was the year of "PIA", a modern lyrical opera (libretto by Pia Pera) composed by Gianna 12 years earlier. While waiting for the opera to be staged by David Zard, she releases the album "Pia Come La Canto Io", with the musical co-production of Wil Malone (a British producer with whom she'd worked before). The album represents a sort of anthology of the opera, where Giannas voice interprets all the characters. These and other texts of the opera are included in a concert tour throughout Italy." Al is het dus de soundtrack van een nog niet opgevoerde opera, het album laat zich beluisteren als een modern Italiaans pop-album. Diverse internationale sessiemusici zijn erbij betrokken, zoals superdrummer Simon Phillips (bekend van o.a. Jack Bruce, The Who, Mike Oldfield en Toto).
