Ex-Deep Purple bassist Glenn Hughes teamed up with axeslinger Pat Thrall in the early 80s, and their combined magic resulted in their one-off same titled album in 1982. Often called an overlooked gem Hughes/Thrall was recorded in Los Angeles and coproduced by Andy Johns, famed for his production work for the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Rod Stewart. The use of inventive guitar techniques and great sound quality made this album stand out. It sits stylistically somewhere between New Wave and Hard Rock, resulting in a highly interesting and timeless listen. Hughes continued to collaborate with a myriad of artists like Tony Iommi and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Thrall continued to work in producing artist such as Peter Gabriel, Tina Turner, Joe Satriani and Dream Theater. (bron: Bertus / MOV)
