De Britse komiek trok met zijn "Force Majeure"-show maar liefst twee jaar de wereld rond en deed daarbij 27 landen aan. In Nederland was hij met deze show in april 2013 drie keer op rij in de Heineken Music Hall te zien. "He's a conviction comedian. Nothing wrong with that nor with the idea that he might run for London Mayor in 2020. But maybe someone should tell him to slow down a bit. The show is all over the place in more ways than one. There are brilliant riffs that confirm him as Britains surrealist-in-chief his thoughts on pipe-smoking in The Hobbit and the ludicrousness of dressage among them. Some bits are befuddling and others err on the preachy. All these disparate elements are glued together by his habitual, bumbling charm and hypnotic stage-presence.
