Drie albums uit de jaren 1975, 1976 en 1977, op 2 CD's "One of the most influential bluegrass acts of the '70s, Country Gazette sowed the seeds for the newgrass movement of the '80s. "Live" (1975) is a fine bluegrass disc. There is much for listeners to sink their teeth into. Highlights include "Never Ending Song of Love" courtesy of Delaney & Bonnie, along with such bluegrass staples as "Sally Goodin" and the Louvin Brothers' "My Baby's Gone", all are aided in the club atmosphere which helps to show off Country Gazette's charm. By the time "What A Way To Earn A Living" (1977) was recorded, there were only two regular members left: guitarist and banjo player Alan Munde and guitarist/mandolin player Roland White. They relied on an auxiliary of supporting guest musicians, but that doesn't affect the music, as they interpret timeless pieces with spirited vocals and tremendous picking. Definitely worth searching for by progressive bluegrass fans." (bron: Allmusic)
