In 1985/6 was de The Who-componist/slaggitarist/zanger op tournee ter promotie van zijn solo-album "White City". Zo wist hij zich in deze The Who-luwe jaren in de kijker te spelen, mede door het hitsucces van het energieke "Face The Face". Verbazingwekkend is hier het uithoudingsvermogen waarmee Simon Phillips het nummer minutenlang op tempo houdt. In januari 1986 speelde Townshend met zijn begeleidingsband The Deep End op de MIDEM-beurs in Cannes. Gelukkig waren de camera's van het Duitse TV-programma Rockpalast erbij. Naast The Who lag in die jaren ook Pink Floyd op z'n gat, waardoor Pete's kameraad David Gilmour zomaar tijd had om hem te begeleiden (hij had het jaar ervoor trouwens ook al getourd met Bryan Ferry). Hij krijgt nog de ruimte voor een nummer van zijn soloplaat "About Face": "Blue Light", daarin komen de strakke blazers van The Kick Horns goed van pas. Simon Phillips, ook mee op tournee, krijgt hier zijn drumsolo. Naast "White City"-materiaal passeren ook enkele The Who-klassiekers de revue.
