"Net zoals Strut Records na de release van "Love And Death", met "Life Stories" een carrièreoverzicht van Ebo Taylor samenstelde, doen ze dat nu voor 'The Golden Voice of Africa' Pat Thomas. Deze 2CD-set overziet diens carrière vanaf de begindagen ergens in de tweede helft van de jaren 60, toen hij samen met Ebo Taylor mooi weer maakte bij de Broadway Dance Band, via later werk met bands als Blue Monks of het door de Ghanese Cocoa Marketing Board gesponsorde Sweet Beans, tot zijn periode in Berlijn, waar Pat na de coup van Jerry Rawlings in 1979 in zelfgekozen ballingschap ging en mede aan de basis stond van wat nu de 'burger highlife' genoemd wordt (Ghanese expats in Duitsland noemden zichzelf "burgers"). Verwacht hier trouwens niet enkel highlife of afrobeat, want Thomas experimenteerde door de jaren heen ook met reggae ("Revolution", duidelijk geïnspireerd door de sound van Jimmy Cliff), soul ("Brain Washing", "Can't You See") en disco ("Who's Free", "Yamona").
