Pianist Cees Slinger is zijn lange, rijke carriëre direct na de oorlog begonnen. Met het spelen voor kauwgum en chocolade voor de geallieerde troepen. Hij was een speler die andere spelers kon bewonderen en werd daardoor door de internationale grootheden op zijn beurt bewonderd en gewaardeerd. (GR Muziekbank). Cees has played with innumerable American and European jazz greats. Among the many recordings Cees has made are those with Ben Webster ('At Work in Europe' is one of them), the already legendary album with Dexter Gordon 'Live at the Amsterdam Paradiso' and 'Live at the North Sea Jazz Festival' with his own Cees Slinger Octet, which in 1983 played a series of very successful concerts in California.
