Bill Wyman (van de Rolling Stones) is sinds zijn jeugd gegrepen door de blues. Hij heeft zich ontwikkeld tot één van de grootste experts en boeken en een documentaire (op dvd te lenen bij de Muziekbank) over de blues gemaakt. Natuurlijk moet al die muziek ook gewoon beluisterd kunnen worden. Bill Wyman heeft daarvoor een selectie gemaakt voor een odyssee van twee keer 23 nummers. Van de grondleggers uit de Delta met alleen een simpele akoestische gitaar tot de grootste bluesmen op de elektrische gitaar als John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters en B.B. King. In het cd-boekje een toelichting op ieder nummer. Maar uiteindelijk moet je er gewoon naar luisteren om het te begrijpen. Om met Bill Wyman te spreken: "These CD's are what the Blues are all about ...... the music. We can think about the Blues, write about them and talk about them, but ultimately we all need to listen to them." (GR Muziekbank)
