But this was the album that established Loveless as a major presence, and it includes two of her biggest singles -- "Chains," "Timber I'm Falling in Love" -- and two of her best -- "Blue Side of Town" and "Don't Toss Us Away," a duet with Rodney Crowell. One of the most popular female singers of the new traditionalist movement, Patty Loveless rose to stardom thanks to her blend of honky tonk and country-rock, not to mention a plaintive, emotional ballad style.
