Album For The Young, Op. 39 (1985)

The Borodin Trio was formed in 1976 after its founding members left the Soviet Union. As a student at the Moscow Conservatory, the violinist Rostislav Dubinsky met the pianist Luba Edlina while he was forming the Borodin String Quartet. Ms. Edlina played in concerts and recorded with the Quartet extensively prior to her emigration to the West. The cellist Laszlo Varga, recognised as a leading solo and chamber musician, joined the Borodin Trio in 1992 following the departure of the founding cellist, Yuli Turovsky. In concerts throughout Europe, the Americas, Australia, New Zealand and the middle-east, this ensemble has earned praise saved only for the finest performing musicians. In addition to their performances of the great chamber music literature, they are known for their work with orchestras in such compositions as Beethoven?s Triple Concerto and Brahms?s Double Concerto.
