"Dominic Glynn, the man behind Fluid has had a broad and fascinating musical career that has included arranging the theme music for TV's 'Dr Who' in the mid-eighties, and the commencement of 'No Bones records' - on which, quite rightly, 'Digital Phunk' is released. Glynn takes curious elements from jazz, funk, ambience and moulds them together, along with his obvious fascination with electronic music. What results is a truly original and invigorating hybrid of styles. At a time when mediocrity seems to rule the charts, there are occasional musical releases that merit interest, but you have to look for them. 'Digital Phunk' is one of them. The best track may well be 'Crashed', a heavy, percussion lead piece. The ambience of 'Thoughtography' is also compelling, as is 'Melting Moon'. With such a variety of styles, this collection could sound inconsistent and sparse. As it is, the whole album flows majestically with a hard-edged, alien style. Highly recommended." (Amazon)
