Canta Samba (2018)

Samba Fever is the appropriate title of Lilian Vieira Grupo's theater tour of the Netherlands. Samba fever also covers the load of the accompanying studio album Canta Samba. The samba songs of the charismatic Lilian Vieira and her skilled acoustic backing band are rousing and exuberant. Samba with its fast (dance) rhythms is therefore pre-eminently the genre for expressing joie de vivre. Vieira sings her own lyrics at a sometimes dizzying speed in varying samba forms, from traditional to modern with a hint of jazz. Cheerful party music! (SvdP/CDR)
