De opzet met aparte delen per componist, genre of stijlperiode is gehandhaafd. De inhoud is zeker niet hetzelfde, een enkele verdubbeling in beide reeksen daargelaten. Dat alleen al laat zien met welke topsamenstellers en -arrangeurs we te maken hebben. Bepaalde werken lenen zich qua muzikale toegankelijkheid nu eenmaal beter voor minder gevorderde pianisten. Daar waar het kan is het werk in originele zetting weergegeven; de meeste stukken zijn echter bewerkt op een creatieve, uiterst pianistische manier. Mooie druk, grote noten, voorbeeldige vingerzetting: alle lof!
