Don't Click Play (2025)

"After 2023's excellent "Diamonds & Dancefloors", Ava Max took a step back with her third full-length, "Don't Click Play". Released in 2025, these dozen tracks lack the cohesive vision of its sophomore predecessor and the big radio hits of her debut, coming off as a watered-down version of better moments in her discography. These are serviceable dance-pop nuggets that, while they could have been sung by anyone else, are at least enjoyable in the moment. The problem is that there's not much to hold onto once the album is over. The title track, "Wet, Hot American Dream," and "Lost Your Faith" are highlights, but otherwise the album plays like a B-sides collection of filler tracks. By no means a complete dud, "Don't Click Play" is hopefully just a slight stumble in her catalog." (Allmusic)
