Due to popular demand Jasmine is proud to reissue the long forgotten 'I Love To Sing' by Al Jolson, who was arguably one of the biggest singers, comedians and actors of his era! This set focuses on his film soundtracks including 'Rose of Washington Square', 'Mammy' and the one for which he is best remembered 'The Jazz Singer', which was the first full length talking movie ever made. Al Jolson was in every sense of the word a true performer who influenced many artists including Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, and Bob Dylan. (Jasmini-records)
"The Nylons were performers and showmen, so this audio souvenir is only half of the story. Their performances were always a delight, but their voices were really the stars of the show and this release proves that the band could really cut it live. It's almost hard to believe that these were actually recorded in front of an audience, and the performances are nearly as perfect as the studio versions. "Up on the Roof" features Connors' brilliant voice wringing every possible ounce of emotion out of the lyrics. "Heavenly Bodies" is one of Morrison's best tracks and certainly doesn't disappoint in this context. Tracks from the over-produced Rockapella album sound wonderful in this live setting. " There's even a handful of songs previously unreleased, including "One Fine Day," and "Good Old Acapella". While live albums often pale when compared to an artist's studio releases, Four on the Floor is likely to be the perfect starting point for anyone wanting to further investigate the charm of the Nylons." "Singer/songwriter Glenn Medeiros is best known for his 1987 international hit "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You" and the 1990 U.S. smash "She Ain't Worth It," the latter of which was a duet with Bobby Brown. A native of Honolulu, Hawaii with Portuguese roots, Medeiros spent his formative years honing his entertaining skills alongside his father on family-run bus tours of the island of Kauai. After winning a local radio contest at the age of 16, Medeiros' budding music career began gaining momentum, and in just two short years he was riding high atop the Billboard charts alongside contemporaries like Bel Biv DeVoe, Paula Abdul, and Rick Astley. Subsequent duets with Ray Parker, Jr. ("All I'm Missing Is You") and the Jets ("Under Any Moon") performed admirably, but failed to light up the charts in the same way as "She Ain't Worth It," and by the mid-'90s Medeiros had moved on to a career in education."
