Thus, Joe Henderson welds his trademark unpredictable flurries into the cool tenor sax bossa nova tradition, Shirley Horn does "Once I Loved" in her own inimitable manner that matches the mood of the song perfectly, Jon Hendricks' scatting fits the samba like a glove. The pianists go somewhat outside the idiom - Herbie Hancock's modern complexity, Gonzalo Rubalcaba's technical fireworks laced with Afro-Cuban salsa - but they stay within their orbits around the Jobim sun. " Passos, die sinds 1980 in Frankrijk woont, trad het jaar daarop op bij Jazz à Juan. In de daaropvolgende jaren werkte ze als actrice, onder meer met Augusto Boal. Als zangeres toerde ze door Europa en Noord-Amerika en presenteerde ze een repertoire dat voornamelijk gebaseerd was op werken van Egberto Gismonti, Hermeto Pascoal, Milton Nascimento en Caetano Veloso; sinds de jaren negentig zijn er eigen liedjes, jazzstandards en Franse chansons (vooral van Léo Ferré) aan toegevoegd. In 2002 trad ze op met Michel Portal en Bernard Lubat. Emmanuel Bex speelde haar als zangeres op zijn album Organ Song (2006). Ook is ze te horen bij het ensemble Correspondance rond Daniel Beaussier (Sans(e)krit, 1990) en op het album Song Song Song van Baptiste Trotignon. Bernard Lavilliers vertolkte haar lied À suivre.
