Bernard Reichel, een vriend van Martin, heeft na de dood van de componist het laatste deel geïnstrumenteerd. Het werk dat oorspronkelijk de titel ‘De Profundis ad Lucem’ (van de duisternis naar het licht) zou dragen gaat over de strijd tussen leven en dood. De cantate straalt een grote melancholie uit, en in haar muzikale taal doet ze sterk aan Der Cornet denken." The result was "In terra pax". It is a work of keen and vibrant imaginative force.
