"Drie jaar na "Lullaby And The Ceaseless Roar" komt Robert Plant met een opvolger, opnieuw met zijn tegenwoordig vaste begeleidingsband The Sensational Space Shifters. Je moet even wennen aan de plaat om daarna te merken dat je hem graag opnieuw draait. Opener "The May Queen" (verwijzing naar "Stairway To Heaven"?? - HB) bezweert, terwijl "Season Song" heerlijk meandert. "Carving Up The World Again " doet Led Zeppelin denken, ook al is het totaal anders. Overigens geldt ditzelfde voor het titelnummer dat met zijn oosterse ondertonen datzelfde gevoel van herkenning oproept. In die zin is dan voor Plant de cirkel ook rond. "Bluebirds Over The Mountain" is een nummer van Ersel Hickey uit 1958 maar zal in de versie van The Beach Boys uit 1968 bekender zijn. Plant heeft een bijzonder fraaie versie opgenomen met Chrissie Hynde. Alle nummers laten horen dat Robert Plant nog meetelt. "Former Led Zeppelins singer Plant's follow-up to "Pictures At Eleven" places much of his debut's style and vocal meandering into a new and more exciting bunch of songs.
